Ted Potter Jr.
Ted Potter Jr. was born in Ocala, Florida, U.S. in 1983. His father, who was a golf-course maintenance worker, got him started in the game at the age of 2. As an amateur, he won all-district honors three times in high school and his 137 is the second lowest 36-hole score in Florida Junior Golf Association history, bettered only by David Gossett’s 135 total in 1996.
Ted turned pro right out of high school in 2002 and won two Web.com Tours in 2011: the South Georgia Presented by First State Bank and Trust Company and the Soboba Golf Classic. Following this, he won his first PGA Tour event, The Greenbrier Classic, in 2012.
Ted Jr. did not have formal lessons but developed his game by playing with his father, Ted Sr. He is naturally right-handed but would flip the clubs over and swing left-handed to mirror his father. He has listed hunting and fishing among his hobbies and enjoys watching Golf Channel.
